What is Furantil?
A broad spectrum antibacterial specific for lower urinary tract infection (UTI).
For initial empiric therapy for uncomplicated community-acquired or nosocomial UTIs, nitrofurantoin is an ideal antibiotic.
Safe and effective for treatment and prophylaxis of urinary tract infection in children and pregnant women during the 1st and 2nd trimester.
High urinary concentration makes it highly effective, and low plasma concentration makes it safer than alternatives.
Virtually no resistance due to multiple mechanisms of action, so with the emergence of antibiotic resistance, nitrofurantoin has become the antibiotic of choice for treating UTIs caused by multi-drug resistant pathogens.®
Furantil provides a high quality nitrofurantoin with 2 dosage forms: 50 mg
capsules and 100 mg tablets.
